如果住在北部，沒打算大老遠跑到花東的赤柯山或六十石山、太麻里看壯觀的金針花海的話。陽明山上竹子湖有一處農園種植著金針花海，在每年的八月份金針花綻放的季節，開放讓民眾進入賞花。雖然規模並沒有很大，但也可以讓你也過過在金針花海中拍照的癮。金針花（萱草）是中國古代代表母親的植物，又被稱作忘憂草，花語是：「忘憂和喜悅」。
